garden room extension in Harborne Conservation Area
Steel windows and doors transformed the space and give it personality
we designed and commissioned a brass door stop
SketchUp model of furniture layout
Bespoke ply wood bar units and brass splashback
An impressive 1920s Tudorbeathan style house in Harborne’s Conservation Area
The original outbuildings were connected to the house in the 1990s
the view from original french doors looked out on the outbuildings
the Garden Room was built on the old courtyard
The new land is on the other side of the wall with the pebble picture
the hidden view is revealed
we reused the old bricks from the outbuildings around the new french doors
No wall or angle followed another, it was a real challenge
The new rooflight is much bigger and less fussy that the one it replaced
We did not want to have to find walls for radiators – so we recommended under floor heating
We kept to the original footprint of the outbuildings and matched new bricks to the ones we had reclaimed
We added wooden pelmets to hide the strips of LED lighting in the light well
The steel sliding door and fabulous brass handle is a real feature
